When someone says the word wildflowers you can’t help but envision a bright sunny day and rolling hillsides filled with vibrant yellows, oranges, purples, and greens.  At least that is the vision that comes to my mind.  The inspiration for this wildflower infused garden party was a little different.  Imagine a misty evening infused with candle and market lights in a garden surrounded by wildflowers….  Can you envision it?  Well, let me help you try.

This was the inspiration and location of Rachel and Loren’s beautiful garden reception.  I can’t wait for you to see how it all came together.  For now, enjoy your dreaming…

A little behind the scenes of me hard at work on location at the LA arboretum.  Just adding the finishing touches to the brides bouquet before her first look.  Here is a little sneak peek of Loren and Rachel’s gorgeous garden wedding.

Beth O’Brien is quite possibly one of my favorite people to work with.  She brings a certain modern appeal mixed in with a classic charm to all of her design projects.  This baby shower was an extra special project for her and I was honored that she wanted to team up and curate this sophisticated baby shower she was hosting.  You can see how her inspiration from Pinterest came to life in this charming, intimate, gathering of friends.

With all the elegance and charm of a girls night out mixed in with the sentiment and sweetness of a baby shower; the simple palate of white, green, and pops of yellow for the floral arrangements were perfectly suited for the candlelit soiree.

The Matilija Poppy is such a stunning delicate local wonder her in Southern Ca.  I was inspired by this sweet maternity session I spotted over on my kid’s photography blog.

I could imagine a simple bundle of these delicate beauties all by themselves or mixed in with some other lovely spring native delights.

How exciting!

Filled with color and light, what is not to love about the mixture of dynamic proteas mixed with earthy greens and feminine ranunculus?  A wonderful collaboration with The Why We Love and Janean of duedesigndaily.com.  See full post HERE

I don’t think there is anything better than a day at the beach with your best gals.  This stylish group of ladies make a beachy bachelorette party look divine.  This collaboration with The Why We Love was one of the most fun to date.  We chose to curate an unlikely combination of bright proteas, and seaside succulents, then mixed in some vibrant tangerines in a vintage soap box to make this jaw dropping table arrangement.  See more photos from this shoot over on The Why We Love’s blog.

This is me and my wonderland!  My little place here on earth that I have filled with all my favorite things.  Native wild flowers, running water, ceramic garden adornements, and a whole lot of buzzing bees and humming birds.  Best of all, I have my sweet Ivy girl wondering about and of course my lovely daughter here to enjoy this late morning. Won’t you join us for a little cup of tea?

I love entertaining.  Setting the table, choosing the menu, and creating a space that allow’s others to feel as much at home as I do.  It is one of life’s greatest pleasures. When my friend Kim asked me to come help transform her new home into an inviting environment to entertain family and close friends I jumped at the task.  This was more than simply a few floral arrangements, this was about curating an intimate gathering for a close friend that resembled her own personal style.

I gathered dinner plates, and fall leaf shaped salad plates and personal gravy boats from Pier One Imports. A soothing floral table runner of dusty blues, greens, and brick, was the perfect compliment to the floor length tablecloth I had custom made for the occasion.  The table runner and rattan chargers were found at World Market.

Votive holders filled to the brim with decrotive acorns added some extra charm to the table scape.

I topped it all off with slabs of old reclaimed wood from my own personal collection to add height to the main floral arrangement.
